bali surf events 2018

With the surf High season kicking up in Bali, there are many Surf events going on. Below some info on two of these competitions:

Last May and early June, The Corona Bali Protected has welcomed the world’s best male and female surfers to Keramas (south-east coast of Bali) for Even No 5 of the WSL Championship Tour (CT).

Corona the main sponsor of this competition decided to rename The “Corona Bali Pro” to “Corona Bali Protected”. To bring attention to marine plastic pollution. It was an event with 100% single-use plastic-free with a whole program on the environment and recycling.

The winner in the Man category was the Brazilian: Italo Ferreira and for the women, it was the American: Lakey Peterson.

For this event, Kima Surf organised a few mornings in Keramas to go see the pro Surfer closely.

The World Surf League (WSL) has confirmed that Event No. 3 of the 2018 WSL Championship Tour (CT), the Margaret River Pro in Western Australia that was canceled due to shark activity, will be completed at the world-class wave of Uluwatu (south of Bali).

This event will commence within 48 hours after the conclusion of the Corona Bali Pro at Keramas, and finish no later than June 13th, 2018. In the men’s event, 24 competitors remain in the field and competition will recommence with Round 3. In the women’s event, eight competitors remain in the field and competition will recommence with the Quarterfinals.

Both events brought the best surfers in the world to Bali. So it’s not uncommon to meet one in the lineup, restaurants or bars around.
