A Complete Room Guide
Your room is an important part of your experience at Kima Surf Camp in Sri Lanka, since you spend your downtime here recharging for your surf sessions. Kima Surf has a room to suit every person, whether you are travelling with friends and family, solo, or with a significant other.
When you stay at Kima Surf in Weligama or Hiriketiya, you can choose from a variety of rooms and enjoy two guided surf sessions and yoga sessions daily, video analysis, surf theory classes, a three-course breakfast and access to facilities around camp.
Here is a breakdown of the different rooms available at our Weligama and Hiriketiya Surf camps. Use this guide to choose the room best suited to you for your surf trip to one of our surf camps in Sri Lanka.
Weligama Surf Camp rooms
Standard dorm - surfer’s delight
This room offers an opportunity to make friends in a smaller dorm setting, with three beds per room, air conditioning, and tropical decorations. Each dorm has a shared bathroom attached, and just outside you have the lounge areas and beanbags perfect for socialising with new friends.
Dorm room - classic surf accomodation
These dorms are perfect for socialising and making friends with your fellow surfers. With six built-in bunk beds, fitted with curtains for privacy and air conditioning, this is great for friends or solo travellers. All you need in cam like our pools, restaurant and chill-out areas are only a few steps away.
Superior dorm - surf with friends
These dorms are located in the heart of the camp in the beautiful colonial homestead. This dorm sleeps eight people each with air conditioning and a shared bathroom which is perfect for making new friends on your surf trip. With a private garden and a chill-out area right outside the dorm, this is the perfect mix of relaxing and socialising.
Kuti dorm - cozy and spacious shared room
Located at the entrance of the main homestead building, with very homey decor, this is the perfect cosy room with four bunk beds, air conditioning, privacy curtains, lockers and a shared bathroom.
Twin dorm - away from the crowd, but in the mix
The twin dorms offer a quieter setting, with 4 beds in each room separated by an open archway. This room has air conditioning, as well as its own bathroom. Just walk downstairs and you’ll arrive at the camp restaurant as well as the pool area.
Standard room - relax in Weligama
These twin or double standard rooms are on the ground floor of the camp and are separate from the main colonial homestead. These rooms have an en suite bathroom, a safety box and mosquito nets if needed, as well as air conditioning. You have the option of booking privately or sharing with someone else.
Single bedroom - for some privacy
These cosy single rooms are perfect for travellers who want to socialise in the daytime and have some quiet time at night. These rooms are designed with a coastal feel, featuring one bed, a large closet, a private bathroom and air conditioning. This is perfect for enjoying the surf during the day and relaxing at night.
Deluxe room - affordable luxury
These twin or double deluxe rooms are fitted with air conditioning, a dresser and a semi-open bathroom. Choose to book a private room or share with another guest!
Deluxe Suite - relax in style
These double or twin deluxe suites are slightly more spacious than the deluxe room option, perfect for enjoying your own space or sharing with another guest. Just a few steps away from all that camp has to offer, this is the perfect room to relax and unwind after surfing.
Deluxe pool suite - spacious room with private pool
This suite is the perfect private escape for your surf camp experience. This suite features a private pool, a desk, a minibar as well as a king sized bed that can be converted to twin beds. The suite offers beautiful interiors as well as air conditioning and a safe. This is one of a kind, perfect for a relaxing surf experience.
Villa studio - unmatched privacy
The villa studio features a king size bed (convertible to twin beds), a large wardrobe with two safety boxes, air conditioning and a spacious bathroom with a rain shower. The most notable feature is the wooden patio with sunloungers and seating to relax in after surf sessions.
Private villa - hidden gem for togetherness
This private villa is ideal for couples who are seeking comfort and privacy. Featuring a private garden, open-air kitchen, a dining and living area and air conditioning, this offers the perfect balance of relaxation and surfing.
1 bedroom villa & villa studio - villa duo
This room selection combines our one bedroom villa and villa studio, creating a great experience for a group of four people. The two are connected by a garden door and are separate from the rest of the camp. Use the space to relax, cook and spend quality time with friends or family.

Deluxe dorm - for the social souls
These rooms are located on the top floor and feature two built-in bunk beds, with curtains for privacy. This room sleeps up to six guests, has two semi-open bathrooms and air conditioning. Walk out of your room to a view overlooking the garden and pool area.
Standard Room - dive into nature
Located on the second floor, these air-conditioned rooms offer a peaceful space overlooking the garden. The rooms feature a king sized bed and shared bathrooms with a coastal feel.
Superior standard room (ground floor) - surf and relaxation fusion
This room is part of a new building in the camp. It has its own pool and is connected to the rest of the camp through the restaurant. Each room features a double or twin bed, a big wardrobe, desk space, a private bathroom and air conditioning.
Superior standard room (first floor) - best of both worlds
These rooms are located on the first floor of the new building in front of the pool and are connected to the camp by the restaurant. These rooms feature semi-open bathrooms, air conditioning and a private balcony, perfect for relaxing and recharging.
Deluxe poolside cabana - lounge in style
The twin or double air-conditioned cabanas are located in front of the swimming pool and can be booked privately or shared with another guest. The cabana features a semi-open en suite bathroom, a large wardrobe and a workspace.
Deluxe cabana with plunge pool - your private surf getaway
Our air-conditioned deluxe cabana with a plunge pool is located in front of the swimming pool. Each cabana has a double bed, desk and chair, a semi-open bathroom as well as a plunge pool and garden. Come back from your surf and relax in the sun terrace chairs.
