That’s why we’ve created a vibrant community at our surf camps in Bali and Sri Lanka, where you can enjoy the surf culture and community, and join different social activities. It’s time to make Kima your home away from home!
Join The Kima Family
From the moment you step foot into our surf camps, you'll be greeted with a warm welcome from our friendly staff. Our dedicated social hosts are always on hand to ensure you feel at home and have everything you need for an unforgettable surf adventure. They’ll show you around and tell you all the information you need to make your time a Kima a blast. Also, they’ll organise a variety of activities, from beach bonfires with music, sunset volleyball and competitions to day trips and exploring the party scene around our camps.
Family BBQ & Dinners
During our weekly social dinners, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with fellow surfers and enjoy the local cuisines. At our camps in Bali, Seminyak and Canggu, we organise weekly family BBQs (included in your Kima Package). Enjoy the flavours of fresh, locally sourced ingredients. These evenings are the perfect opportunity to refuel after a full day of surfing, share stories, and bond with other Kima family members!
In Sri Lanka we offer a diverse culinary experience with our five-night dinner series. Each night you can expect a different cuisine, ranging from delicious burgers and pasta to authentic local Sri Lankan dishes and also a family BBQ. These dinners are included in your Kima package, so all you have to do is show up, gather around the table, relax, and enjoy the good company and great food.
Sunset Jamming
Another popular and fun activity at Kima is our Sunset Jamming once per week. Bali and Sri Lanka are both known, among other things, for the most beautiful sunsets. So obviously, a day can hardly end better than with a sunset on the beach! And sunsets with Kima are also not ‘just’ watching sunsets. We’ll walk down the beach with the whole Kima Family, grabbing the guitars and the Cajon to have a sunset jam session with the surf guides. Singing and enjoying a drink, while watching how the sun disappears behind the horizon.
(Sunset) Beach Volleyball
Another day in Bali, another beautiful sunset. Just like Sunset Jamming, as the sun begins to set, we’ll head down to the beach. This time for a fun game of beach volleyball. We'll head down to the beach together, form teams, play against each other, and enjoy the beautiful sunset. Surf guides and other beachgoers are often invited to join in the fun.
At our camp in Weligama, we even have our volleyball net on our campgrounds, so make sure you don’t miss a game while you’re there.
You can join in on the game or simply relax on the beach and cheer on the players while having a drink and watching the beautiful sunset! It's the perfect way to end the day, with good company, good vibes, and a sunset that’ll never bore you.
Competitions
How to get to know each other better than during a competition? Each week we organise different competitions. From a paddle competition in the pool, indo board or surf skate comps, to a climbing or beer pong competition at our camps.
With a 15M climbing wall in Canggu and with a variety of routes to suit all skill levels, it’s the perfect way to show your strength and coordination and battle your newly made friends! After a challenging climb, cool off with a refreshing dip in the pool and enjoy a well-deserved drink at the bar.
Occasionally, we host fun competitions like a beer pong tournament. Team up with a partner, come up with a creative team name, and get ready to battle it out for the victory. The winning team will be rewarded with exciting prizes that you can use during your stay at Kima. This is the perfect way to warm up for a night out at one of Bali’s or Sri Lank’s lively clubs!
Beach Cleaning
At Kima Surf, we're not only passionate about surfing but also about protecting our oceans and beaches. Plastic pollution not only harms marine life but also impacts the quality of our waves. By participating in our regular beach clean-ups, you can help preserve the surfing conditions we all love.
Join us as we work together to remove plastic waste and other trash from our beaches. It's a great way to connect with fellow surfers, give back to the community, and ensure future generations can enjoy the beauty of our oceans. Let's keep our surf spots clean for years to come!
Dance the night away
After a long day of surfing, why not let loose and dance the night away? Bali and Sri Lanka offer a vibrant nightlife scene with a variety of parties, clubs and events to suit every taste.
Kima Pool & After Surf Parties
Dive into the excitement of our pool parties and After Surf parties. Enjoy refreshing drinks, dance to the latest beats, play beer pong, jump in the pool, and make new friends. Our parties are the perfect way to unwind, connect and celebrate your night with each other.
Bali’s Nightlife
Explore the vibrant nightlife of Canggu and Seminyak, Bali's most popular party destinations. From laid-back beach bars to high-energy nightclubs, there's something for everyone. Our social hosts will take you to the best spots around and help you navigate the local party scene.
Sometimes we also have day trips planned to the cliffs of Uluwatu. Afterwards, we’ll head to Uluwatu’s iconic surfer bar which makes a great spot to watch surfers, the sunset and for a fun party. The atmosphere is laid-back but paired with the high energy of the crowd makes these Sunday parties a hit!
At Kima, we also have special deals with bars, clubs and restaurants around the island. As part of our daily social activities, we sometimes arrange tables, guest lists, discounts or tickets for special events.
Sri Lanka Nightlife
While Sri Lanka might not be known for its wild nightlife compared to Bali, there are still plenty of opportunities to enjoy a fun-filled evening in and around Weligama and Hiriketiya.
As the sun sets, the beaches come alive with bonfires and live music. Many beach bars and restaurants also offer live music, from traditional Sri Lankan tunes to modern DJ’s, pop and beach lounge.
For a more lively night out, head to the nearby town of Mirissa. Here, you'll find a variety of bars and clubs offering a mix of local and international music.
Meditation & Ice Bath
After a long day of surfing, exploring, socialising, and partying, there's nothing better than a calming and recharging meditation session or a dip in our brand new ice bath in Weligama or Canggu. These practices can help you improve your focus, reduce stress, and get you ready for your next surfing session.
Our guided meditation sessions are designed to help you find your inner peace. Sit back, close your eyes, and let the calming sounds guide you to a state of relaxation.
