Uluwatu for Digital Nomads

Work, Surf, Repeat

There is something special about waking up on the cliffsides of Uluwatu, that makes you want to stay longer than you planned to. It can be the world-class waves at your doorstep, the dramatic limestone cliffs and beaches, the wellness-focused lifestyle, the amazing food, the cliffside cafes filled with nomads and iced lattes, but I think a winning factor is because your “commute” is a 2 minute walk to the beach.

What began as a hard core surf destination has become a digital nomad haven, Uluwatu gives you a perfect balance of productivity, health and wellness, adventure and a solid community. Our Kima Surf Camp in Uluwatu is about to put you at the heart of this seamless balance. This is a space for remote workers to have a place to work and connect.

Why is Bali a digital nomad hotspot?

Bali has recently become a hotspot for digital nomads. It offers a great mix of modernity, connection but still that tropical lifestyle and slow paced rhythm.

Life in Bali feels easy! You have fast reliable internet connection, affordable living costs, low cost data, great cafes on every corner, incredible food, world-class gyms, wellness studios, waves at every coastline and a large community of global remote workers. What more could a remote worker possibly need?

One minute you’re on a Zoom call, the next you’re having a sunset surf. Bali is unique because work still gets done, but life happens around it. Places like Canggu first put Bali on the digital nomad map, more people are now heading to Uluwatu for a quieter, less crowded version of the same lifestyle.

Why are digital nomads choosing Uluwatu?

Uluwatu is quieter and more spread out, and the lifestyle here revolves around surf, good coffee, and sunsets. Most mornings will start in the lineup, surfing at spots like Padang Padang, Uluwatu Beach or Bingin. The skies transition from pink to blue, and the day starts with the motion of the ocean. After catching some epic waves, you’ll grab a coffee at Drifters, Analog or Suka Espresso, catching up with other surfers on their morning surf checks. This all happens before you sit down and focus for a few hours.

Uluwatu is filled with coworking cafes, which have fast wifi, charging ports and a zen space to get productive. Everything you need is also within walking distance, so no need to waste time on getting around. You can pop off to the gym, a wellness studio, recovery center or even for a quick walk on the beach for an active brain break.

Afternoons are for a reset, sneaking another surf in, or heading down to the cliffs to catch sunset with friends. A productive day in the bag, but you still feel like you’re living.

A typical day at Kima Uluwatu

Our surf camp in Uluwatu is the perfect place to balance work and lifestyle, with our 24/7 coworking space. This space has reliable high-speed wifi available all day, comfortable work areas, plugs to charge devices, air-conditioning and seclusion from the camp vibe.

A typical day may look something like this:

6:00 AM - Sunrise surf

Wake up and hop straight into the van, with our experienced surf guides, as they take you to the surf spot that best suits your level. Head straight into the water at nearby breaks like Padang Padang Beach or Bingin Beach while it’s still quiet. Enjoy a 2-hour session with feedback from our experienced coaches as you refine your skills.

8:30 AM - Breakfast and coffee

Enjoy your complimentary three-course breakfast, at our long communal tables while you share this morning's surf session with other surfers. Refuel with a nutritious breakfast, a good coffee and some socialising, so you are ready to get focused.

9:00 AM - Work time in Kima’s 24/7 coworking space

Log onto the fast wifi and get started on your to-do list, our wifi supports calls and teams meetings so you can get deep in to your work, and get things done with no distractions.

12:30 PM – Break + reset

Enjoy a healthy lunch at our on-site restaurant, or take a stroll to some of the nearby cafes to try something new. Get the body moving with our daily yoga classes at the camp, or a quick ice bath and then you are ready to go.

2:00 PM – Back to work

Get a few more hours in after you are refuelled and energized.

4:00 PM – Wind down or get a second surf session in

Wrap up your work day and join Kima’s afternoon surf sessions, or alternatively take it easy and head to the cliff for sunset. Enjoy an epic sunset with some fellow surfers, as the sun sets along the dramatic limestone cliffs.

6:30 PM - Dinner and socialise

Walk back to camp for dinner and social activities with the crew, enjoy a movie night, BBQ, games night or a night out in town and do it all again tomorrow!

We know not all work schedules are the same, some start early, some later in the day — the good thing is the coworking space is open 24/7, so you can work around your own hours and still enjoy everything our Uluwatu Camp has to offer.

Uluwatu is more than a one week surf destination, it is the kind of place that feels like home, where you extend your stay again and again. Life here is a slow paced rhythm, mornings surfing, deep work in the day, sunsets on the cliffs and a community that makes your day. If you are planning to extend your stay (which most people do once they’re here), the Kima Surf Loyalty Program is built exactly for that lifestyle. This isn’t just a one-time trip, it’s a surf journey.

From your second stay, you get 10% off, and it only gets better from there — up to 20–30%+ off for returning guests, plus real-life perks like airport pick-ups, room upgrades, board insurance, and private surf sessions once you become part of the Kima regulars. Stay longer, come back again, and the rewards grow with you. In some cases, long-term guests even work their way toward a completely free stay.

It’s simple: if Uluwatu feels like home, Kima makes it easier to stay.
