1. Canggu Beach
Canggu has quickly become one of the trendiest areas on the island. Tourists, digital nomads and surfers come here for the beaches, lively restaurants, unique shops, and the vibrant party scene, and not to forget the amazing sunsets! With a lot of different surf spots, like Batu Bolong, Old Mans, Berawa and Pererenan, Canggu is a great spot for all levels.
Depending on the day and the swell, you can enjoy smaller waves, perfect for learning how to surf and new surf manoeuvres, or challenge yourself with bigger swells when the surf conditions are right. And as the sun begins to set (usually starting around 5 PM), there’s no better way to wrap up your surfing day than with a sunset surf!
After a fun sunset surf session, there’s no better way to continue your evening than by enjoying our weekly sunset jam session, where you can relax with other surfers with a drink or a fresh coconut. Afterwards, we’ll head back to our Canggu Kima Surf Camp for our weekly family barbecue and other social activities, enjoying the perfect ending to a great surfing day in Bali!
2. Seminyak Beach
Just a few kilometres down from Canggu, you’ll find Seminyak Beach. Also known for its trendy and upscale atmosphere, Seminyak is a great combination of relaxation and surfing opportunities. It’s a favourite spot for tourists, locals and surfers, making it an exciting place to visit.
Just a short walk from our Kima Surf camp in Seminyak, you will find consistent waves for beginners, like Double Six Beach where our Learn to Surf school takes place, and surf spots for more experienced surfers. And the sunsets? Absolutely amazing!
A great spot for a sunset session is Skatepark, a popular surf spot where beginners plus, and intermediates can improve their surf techniques. The lively atmosphere at this beach makes it a perfect place to hang out. When it gets too dark to surf, settle down with drinks and local snacks while enjoying music on the beach!
3. Uluwatu
If you’re in Bali, you have to check out Uluwatu. It’s one of Bali's most iconic surfing destinations, known for its high cliffs, green surroundings, beautiful yet powerful waves, and amazing sunsets. Located all the way down south, it attracts surfers and surf legends from around the world looking for some of the best waves you can find in Bali. Beyond surfing, Uluwatu has a unique vibe with beautiful beaches, great restaurants, and incredible cliffside views that everyone talks about. There are several incredible surf spots in Uluwatu where you can catch a fantastic sunset surf.
Padang Padang
One of the highlights is Padang Padang Beach. This place is known for its world-class reef breaks and offers waves that are perfect for intermediate and advanced surfers who can handle the bigger swells. This is also the surf spot where several surf competitions take place, such as the annual Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang. As the sun sets, the beach and sky transform into a vibrant scene, with surfers catching their last waves of the day and clubgoers enjoying their first drinks and getting ready for Bali’s nightlife at one of the beach clubs on the cliffs. Bingin Beach & Dreamland
If you’re looking for something a bit more laid-back, Bingin Beach or Dreamland are a great option. It’s less crowded in the lineup and has a more private feel, making it perfect for a chill afternoon of surfing during sunset. These spots are recommended for intermediates and experienced surfers as the currents and the waves can get tricky. After shredding the waves and enjoying another beautiful sunset, you can enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the local beach warungs on the beach.
Uluwatu
Lastly, there is Uluwatu itself, located near the iconic Uluwatu Temple. This spot is famous not only for its surf but also for its lively vibe.
