Seminyak: Tropical Oasis for Beginners
Our Seminyak camp is where it all began more than 20 years ago, serving as a tropical oasis with authentic Bali flair. It is the #1 recommendation for absolute beginners.
The vibe & accommodation
This camp is all about that classic, social surf camp energy. With a natural stone pool surrounded by palm trees, sun lounges, and bean bags, it’s a perfect place to connect with other guests. Accommodations range from traditional wooden bungalows (Kubus and Lumbungs) to twin/double rooms and suites that meet high Western standards.
The Surf
Seminyak is the home base for our Learn-to-Surf (LTS) program, a 5-day course designed for absolute beginner surfers. Our camp is just a short walk away from the beach break where our surf school takes place. If you're joining the LTS, we recommend staying here, though we also offer daily transfers if you're staying in Canggu.
Intermediate or an advanced surfer? Don't worry, you’ll definitely get your money's worth here, as plenty of intermediate and advanced spots are just a short drive away! During the rainy season, when the wind shifts, we take you to the best working spots on the East Coast, such as Keramas. We even use our own Kima boat to ensure you reach the best breaks around the island.

Canggu: The Surf, Yoga & Fitness Resort
Canggu is our modern, high-energy evolution of the surf camp experience. It’s a full-scale resort with a modern island lifestyle design that is even bigger and bolder than Seminyak.
The vibe & accommodation
Located in the heart of Bali’s trendiest spots, our Canggu camp is packed with features: 3 different pools (one with a diving tower!), a 15m high climbing wall, a gym with an ocean view, an ice bath and a surf skate area! Even though it’s a bigger camp than Seminyak, with big communal tables, the pool bar and the social activities, it’s easy to make new connections. You can also book a private 2-bedroom villa with its own pool for the ultimate group trip.
The surf
We primarily recommend Canggu for beginners who are improving, intermediates, and advanced surfers. Beginners can find many semi-beach breaks with the perfect first green waves right outside our surf camp in Canggu. If you are a complete beginner, we advise you to join our Learn-To-Surf School in Seminyak. We provide daily transport from our Canggu camp.
Intermediate spots are within walking distance, like Pererenan and Echo Beach. While our surf guides take the advanced surfers to legendary breaks like Airport, Balangan, or Keramas. During Bali’s rainy season, we also take our Kima boat directly from our camp to access the best spots around the island and hit the outer reefs.

Uluwatu: Heart of the Bukit Scene
Our Uluwatu camp puts you right in the heart of the action in Pecatu! Everything is fresh, thoughtfully designed, and perfect for those who want a laid-back resort vibe in the middle of a legendary surfing scene.
The vibe & accommodation
If you ask us, the vibe here is the perfect mix. It’s got that modern Canggu lifestyle feel combined with the authentic, relaxed, and secluded energy of Seminyak. This setup is the ultimate recovery zone. We have a pool with a sunken lounge, an ice bath, yoga shala, coworking space, and an on-site bar and restaurant. Choose between private bungalows tucked in the gardens, social dorms, or your very own private villa with a private pool.
The Surf
Location is everything, when we say you are in Uluwatu, you really are right there in Uluwatu! You are just a 10-minute walk from the legendary surf spots like Padang Padang and 15 minutes from Bingin! For those still learning the basics, the beginner-friendly waves of Dreamland and Thomas Beach are only a 15-minute drive away, and we always provide reef shoes to keep you safe.
The dry season is when this area truly shines, delivering everything from playful chest high waves to massive, overhead sets. When the rainy season hits and the winds shift, our camp's location remains a strategic win, as we are perfectly positioned to reach Nusa Dua and other east-coast breaks that work best during these months.

Preferring Sri Lanka for your next surf adventure? You’re in for a treat! With two Kima Surf Camps in Sri Lanka, both located on the (south-) west of the island in Weligama and Hiriketiya, you have access to the best surf spots around the island. Our experienced surf guides will always find the best spots for you based on the daily conditions and your level!
Weligama: Social Vibes & Learning
Located on the vibrant southwestern coast, our Weligama camp is a unique and laid-back surf camp that can accommodate around 70 guests. It’s our social heartbeat in Sri Lanka, perfect for those who want to surf all day and connect with a community of travelers all night.
The vibe & accommodation
Our camp is set in a stunning 150-year-old authentic Sri Lankan Colonial property, home to over 140 different fruit trees (which we harvest for your 3-course breakfast!). The heart of the camp is a social hub designed for connection. You can challenge surf guides to games, lounge by the pool, recover in an ice bath, join a video analysis, or join in on beach volleyball. We host communal dinners five nights a week (Monday to Friday) to bring everyone together. Accommodation ranges from cozy 4-8 person dorms, ideal for solo travelers, to stylish double rooms, suites, and even a private villa.
The Surf
Weligama is world-famous for its long, sandy beach breaks, which are just a short walk from the camp. It’s a dream for beginners and intermediates because the waves are forgiving and consistent. This is also the best choice if you want to join our Learn-to-Surf (LTS) program, where our instructors will guide you through all the basics in Sri Lanka’s gentle and warm waters.
During the dry season (Maha Season, October to February), the conditions are offshore and glassy. During the rainy season, while the winds can shift, the protected nature of the bay in Weligama often keeps the waves rideable and fun for those looking to practice. Feeling adventurous? More advanced breaks like Madiha, Kabalana, and Rams are just a quick ride away.

If you are looking for a calm and serene haven, our Hiriketiya camp on the southeastern coast is calling your name. This is a more intimate location, accommodating only 25 guests, which creates a peaceful, boutique atmosphere.

Our camp in Hiriketiya is intimate and private, ideal for relaxation, romance and connecting with nature. You’ll stay in spacious, comfortable cabanas inspired by traditional jungle huts, blending local charm with Western luxury. Options range from deluxe dorms to private cabanas and even a deluxe cabana with its own private plunge pool. Surrounded by lush jungle, it’s a dreamy retreat where you can enjoy a healthy 3-course breakfast on your private veranda after a morning session. The camp also features an open yoga shala and a breezy training center overlooking the jungle to work on those after surf stretches.
The surf
The camp is situated close to the famous Hiriketiya Bay, which offers two breaks at one beach: from a heavy reef to a mellow beach break with perfect waves for beginners to advanced surfers.
In the dry season, the water is crystal clear and the waves are beautifully shaped. In the rainy season, the bay's unique horseshoe shape filters out heavy swell and provides more protection from the elements than other open coasts, maintaining its reputation as a reliable surf spot. Hiriketiya is less affected by the weather and a bit more reliable than Weligama.
For advanced surfers who need a bigger challenge, more advanced breaks are just a short ride away with our Jeep. Our surf guides will give you all the ins and outs on the advanced options around our camp.
